This week in 1977 the cast of the The Wiz gathered for a press conference to announce the production of this film adaptation of the musical of the same name. In the film, Michael portrayed ‘The Scarecrow’ and is surrounded here by Ted Ross (‘The Cowardly Lion’), Diana Ross (‘Dorothy’) and Nipsey Russell (‘The Tin Man’).
