In 1980, Michael Jackson was Stevie Wonder’s surprise guest at his Madison Square Garden, New York City concert date. Wonder’s tour was part of a campaign to establish the federal holiday to honor Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. that is celebrated today.
