This artwork, titled “Motown Magic,” was created as part of an exhibition themed ‘Show Me Ya Motion’ in April of this year. As a devoted Michael Jackson fan, I felt he embodied the theme perfectly and decided to create three MJ pieces for the show.
“Motown Magic” is crafted on 18×24 tan mixed media paper using graphite, charcoal, chalk, and rhinestones. This piece is particularly special to me as it captures the essence of Michael Jackson’s legendary performance of “Billie Jean” at the 25th Motown Anniversary Show. It was during this performance that Michael introduced the world to his iconic moonwalk, along with the unforgettable spin and toe stand combination.
Creating this piece was a thrilling experience, as it allowed me to pay homage to one of the most magical moments in music history.
